1. He auditioned for the role of Superman in the reboot by producer, director McG, before it was canceled. His rival was Henri Cavil who later went on to play the character in “Man of Steel”.
2. Both Jared Padalecki and his “Supernatural” co-star Jensen Ackles are from Texas. Jared grew up in San Antonio and Jensen grew up in Richardson. Now these two good friends live in Austin with their families.

7. For the role of Sam Winchester, Jared put on 35 pounds of muscle. He transformed from a skinny 185 pounds in the movie “House of Wax” to 220 pounds muscular in “Supernatural”.
8. During the shooting of final episodes of “Supernatural” season 9, Jared dislocated his shoulder while wrestling with Osric Chau. Writers were forced to make a short story explaining why Sam Winchester was wearing a sling on his shoulder in the beginning of season 10.
9. He owns a 90’s themed bar in Austin, which was opened in 2018.
10. He was engaged to his long time girlfriend Sandra McCoy and proposed to her during a holiday in Paris in 2007-2008. However in June 2008 he announced their separation at the “Supernatural” Dallas Convention.
11. He met Genevieve Cortese on the sets of “Supernatural” 4^th season when she guest starred as Ruby. He proposed to her in October 2009 and married her in February 2010. They reside in Austin Texas with 3 children.
12. Jensen Ackles was first auditioned for the role of Sam Winchester. When Jared auditioned for that role, producers convinced Jensen to take up the role of Dean Winchester.
