Lucifer Season 6: Amenadiel Confirms Return; To Direct An Episode in Final Season

D.B. Woodside, portraying the angelic older brother Amenadiel to the devil Lucifer, has confirmed his return to the sixth and final season of the Netflix’s “Lucifer” series.

What’s more is that, Woodside will not only reprise his role, but also be sitting on the director’s chair for one of the episodes in the Season 6. Amenadiel was last seen in the finale of Season 4, when he and Dr. Linda Martin decided to raise their son Charlie in Earth.

“Happy to announce that I will be returning to Lucifer for Season 6. Additionally, I will be directing an episode for our final season,” Woodside wrote on Twitter. “This is a beautiful cast. We stand by each other. We fight for one another.”

Tom Ellis, the lead actor quote-tweeted Woodside’s announcement, and wrote “”Yes Brother…! Utterly delighted and excited to get back alongside you both in front of and behind the camera.”

Netflix confirmed the renewal of “Lucifer” for the final season of Season 6, late last month. Since then, various news outlets have reported who all will be returning. It was also revealed that the show’s writers are back to work on the script of the Season 6.

“Lucifer” is set to return for the first half of the fifth season, to feature eight episodes, on August 21, 2020. The upcoming season is said to have a black-and-white episode set in the 1940’s, revealing the backstory of the devil Lucifer himself, and Maze. “24” vet Dennis Haysbert join the cast as The Almighty, God, and Lucifer’s father, from the Season 5A.

As for the second part of the “Lucifer” Season 5, featuring 8 more episodes, production is yet to start, following the world-wide shutdown due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Season 5B will see the entry of Rob Benedict, famous for his role as “God” in “Supernatural” TV series. Benedict will play the role of Vincent Le Mec, who crosses path with LAPD, Chloe and Lucifer.
