Netflix Released First Trailer of Sarah Paulson’s “Ratched”

Netflix has released the first trailer of Ryan Murphy’s “Ratched,” featuring Sarah Paulson as the Mildred Ratched, the infamous villain from “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”

“Ratched” will tell the back story of the seminal villain, one of the most iconic characters in Hollywood, of who she became the monster that she was from a dedicated nurse. From the creator of AHS, Ryan Murphy, the trailer is bone-chilling enough to know, that the series will give you nightmares.

Talking about playing the character of Nurse Ratched, Paulson said that “By the time you get to the end of the first season, you will not wonder how and why Mildred became the way she did. You may question her actions, you may have judgment about it—but you will understand it. It will make sense to you.”

“From Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, Ratched is a suspenseful drama series that tells the origin story of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched,” the Netflix description of the show reads. “In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind. On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image of what a dedicated nurse should be, but the wheels are always turning, and as she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it, Mildred’s stylish exterior belies a growing darkness that has long been smoldering within, revealing that true monsters are made, not born.”

The show also has an all-star supporting cast with Cynthia Nixon as Gwendolyn Briggs, Judy Davis as Nurse Betsy Bucket, Sharon Stone as Lenore Osgood, Jon Jon Briones as Dr. Richard Hanover, Finn Wittrock as Edmund Tolleson, Charlie Carver as Huck, Alice Englert as Dolly, Amanda Plummer as Louise, Corey Stoll as Charles Wainwright, Sophie Okonedo as Charlotte Wells, Brandon Flynn as Henry Osgood and Vincent D’Onofrio as Gov.
